11th Annual ARTSPEAKS: “Bringing Poetry & People Together” to be held September 10

GAINESVILLE, Fla – ARTSPEAKSgnv Inc. presents the 11th Annual ARTSPEAKS: “Bringing Poetry & People Together.”

North Central Florida’s Premier Poetry Event will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 10, at the beautiful Historic Thomas Center, 302 NE 6th Avenue.

This free and public annual event features local and regional literary and visual artists in a Celebration of Expression through Poetry, Spoken Word, Performance, and Storytelling.

Alachua County Poet Laureate and ARTSPEAKS founder E. Stanley Richardson will host the event. Each participant will have 5 minutes to perform their expression.

Our special guest poet will be Rachel Xu, the Inaugural Alachua County – North Central Florida Youth Poet Laureate, representing Gainesville Eastside High School.

Featured artists will also have books, art, chapbooks, CDs, and other merchandise for purchase. Light refreshments will be served.

This event is co-sponsored by the City of Gainesville Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, a CAPRA accredited agency.
