A daycare worker at O2B Kids Hunters Crossing is the 12th positive COVID-19 case in Alachua County. The case is under investigation but is currently thought to be travel-related.
O2B Kids posted on Facebook: “Our Hunters Crossing location will be closed Friday, March 20th and remain closed next week as well.
“The Alachua County Health Department has indicated that they do not see any reason for us to close our other locations at this time and recognizes the essential community service we provide by caring for children of first responders and healthcare workers.
“We do not take the decision to stay open lightly. We have been asked by many businesses, health professionals, government departments, and child care agencies to remain open. Many of our parents are the leaders and workers who will guide us through this current crisis including doctors, nurses, health care professionals, lab technicians, scientists, first responders, government officials, sanitation workers, service professionals, and our grocery store clerks & managers. Staying open and safely caring for the children of parents who must work is our way of contributing to our community’s response to this unprecedented crisis.”
