13th Annual ARTSPEAKS to be held on September 7

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – ARTSPEAKSgnv Inc., presents the 13th Annual ARTSPEAKS: “Bringing Poetry & People Together,” the area’s premier community poetry event, at 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 7, at the Historic Thomas Center (302 NE 6th Avenue).

This free and public annual event features local and regional literary and visual artists in a celebration of expression through poetry, spoken-word performance, and storytelling. 

Participants are encouraged to RSVP at info@ARTSPEAKSgnv.org 

Participants should arrive at 3:30 p.m. 

Each participant will have 5 minutes to perform their expression. 

Featured artists will also have books, art, chapbooks, CDs, and other merchandise for purchase. 

This event is co-sponsored by the City of Gainesville Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, a CAPRA-accredited agency.
