18-year-old Alachua motorcyclist killed in crash

ALACHUA, Fla. – At about 8:36 p.m. last night, an 18-year-old Alachua man was killed in a crash at SR 235 and CR 237.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a pickup truck with a trailer, driven by a 45-year-old Lake Butler man, was traveling north on CR 237 and collided with the motorcycle, which was traveling west on SR 235. The Alachua man was wearing a helmet but sustained fatal injuries; the Lake Butler man sustained minor injuries.

The crash is under further investigation.
