2 people in serious condition after accident near Cross Creek

At around 8:30 p.m. on October 3, units from Alachua County Fire Rescue, Cross Creek, and Micanopy Fire Rescue were dispatched to a vehicle accident with extrication on County Road 325 near the community of Cross Creek.
Upon arrival, units found a single vehicle in the woods on its side. The vehicle had sustained major damage. Two patients were trapped inside the vehicle. Firefighters had to stabilize the vehicle and then remove the roof using the jaws of life to remove the patients from the vehicle. One patient was transported to the hospital via helicopter by Shandscair. The second patient was transported via ambulance. Both patients were trauma alerts to Shands. Both patients were in serious condition.
