Rushunn L. Davis, 20, was arrested today on a warrant following a sworn complaint regarding an incident on October 20, 2021. According to the sworn complaint, Davis burglarized the victim’s car at the Circle K at 1515 N. Main Street while armed, along with two co-defendants, one a juvenile and the other unknown.

The victim had gone inside the Circle K store when the suspects arrived in their car and parked by the gas pumps. The juvenile co-defendant walked in the store and handed the clerk some money, and when he left the store, he got into the victim’s car and stole a backpack containing several school books and $200 in cash. Davis and the unknown suspect then got into the victim’s car. After they got out, the victim came out of the store and saw all three of the suspects around his car. All three suspects approached him and began attacking him. The victim said the unknown defendant pulled a handgun from his waistband. He was struck several times in the face and head but was able to run away from his attackers. Davis chased after him, demanding that the victim empty his pockets while showing the victim a handgun. The victim raised his hands in fear, and all three suspects got back into their vehicle and drove away. The entire incident was captured on video surveillance.

The victim knew Davis and picked him out of a line-up.

Davis was convicted on a second-degree felony charge of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a delinquent on October 16, 2020, and sentenced to 210 days in jail, with 97 days credit.
