3rd Annual Alachua Pest Services Long Drive Championship this Sunday

The 3rd Annual Alachua Pest Services Long Drive Championship will be held Sunday, October 25, 2020, at the Turkey Creek Golf Course from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. There will also be a Closest-to-the-Pin Contest sponsored by Waste Pro and a Chipping Contest sponsored by AAA Lawn Services.
Preregistration can be made through turkeycreek.eventbrite.com. The preregistration cost is $20 and $25 if registering at the event for the Long Drive Championship. The cost for the Closest-to-the-Pin and Chipping Contests are $5 per attempt. The Creek’s 19th restaurant will be providing refreshments.
As in last year’s successful event, there will be male and female flights in different age groups for the Long Drive Championship. There will be cash prizes for individual winners of each flight including a $500 prize for the overall Champion. There will also be a Net Championship where all the flight winners will compete against the overall winner with yardages added to their winning distance to equal the overall winner’s distance, so all will be equal from the start. The Net Championship winner will also receive a $500 prize. There will be a 1st ($100), 2nd ($75), and 3rd ($50) place prizes for the Closest-to-the Pin Contest. The Chipping Contest will have a 1st and 2nd place cash prize.
Come on out and bring your clubs or come out to enjoy the competition. Either way, it will be a great time had by all. In the interest of public safety, we will be observing social distancing guidelines and face coverings are required even though the event is held out of doors.
