3X GRAMMY-nominated drummer, Nate Smith, to perform with Kiefer, CARRTOONS, and Levek on April 30 at Heartwood

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Visit Heartwood’s outdoor stage on April 30 to experience top-tier improvisational jazz with one of this generation’s most celebrated drummers. Nate Smith is a drummer, composer, and producer whose visceral, instinctive, and deep-rooted style of drumming has led to three GRAMMY® nominations and collaborations with esteemed artists, including Pat Metheny, Dave Holland, Brittany Howard, Van Hunt, The Fearless Flyers, Norah Jones, and Somi. 

Smith fuses his original compositions with an eclectic mix of music, including everything from jazz to R&B to hip-hop to pop. In recent years, Smith’s viral videos have been viewed by millions of people, underscoring his popularity as one of the most influential drummers of his generation.

Smith will appear in Gainesville on Wednesday, April 30, to perform with a trio featuring Kiefer on keys and bassist CARRTOONS. Both Kiefer and CARRTOONS are musical heavy-hitters in their own right with features on NPR’s Tiny Desk.
