ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – With Gainesville Police Department making domestic violence a priority, Alachua Chronicle will provide basic descriptions of domestic violence incidents as resources permit. The point is to familiarize our readers with the scope and scale of domestic violence in Alachua County, not to highlight the offenders. Names and booking photos of all of the offenders can be found in the daily Jail Booking Log.

Domestic violence arrests on June 15, 2026

• None

Domestic violence arrests on June 16, 2026

• A woman was arrested by GPD after allegedly pinning a juvenile against a wall and choking him; when he tried to leave, the woman allegedly picked up a heavy wooden stick and swung at him, leaving scratches on his back. Post Miranda, the woman said she never choked or swung at the victim with a stick; she said the only time she touched him was when he pushed her and she tried to push him off her. The victim did not need medical attention. Two juvenile witnesses reportedly told the officer that the woman initiated the physical fight. She was charged with domestic battery by strangulation and aggravated battery.
• A man was arrested by ASO in the Asbury Park complex when he allegedly returned to the complex after his estranged wife had previously asked ASO to trespass him. His estranged wife called law enforcement after he allegedly went to the complex and demanded to see his son; a deputy reported that they saw him walking away from the residence. He reportedly admitted coming to the residence to see his son and was charged with trespassing after a warning.
• A man and woman were arrested by ASO in Holly Heights after the man went to the woman’s residence to see their shared son; the woman asked him to leave, and he entered the residence through the kitchen window. Inside, he saw another man, became agitated, and argued with the woman; he went outside, and when she tried to close the door, he allegedly pushed his way inside and grabbed the woman. After a deputy placed the man in handcuffs, the woman allegedly walked up and spat at the man and the deputy. The man was charged with burglary with battery and felony domestic battery with a prior conviction. The woman was charged with domestic battery and battery on a law enforcement officer.
