Chiefland woman sentenced to 10 years in prison for sexual activity with a minor in Alachua

ALACHUA, Fla. – Chiarel Ruby Davis, 39, of Chiefland, has been sentenced to 10 years in state prison, followed by five years of sexual offender probation, after entering a plea of nolo contendere to unlawful activity with a 16- or 17-year-old victim.

According to a May 2025 release from the Alachua Police Department, Davis was arrested for engaging in sexual activity with a juvenile victim, providing marijuana to the minor, and sending explicit messages and images. She also allegedly facilitated unsupervised meetings with the minor without parental consent. APD began investigating the case after a report from a concerned parent, but no further information is available because the arrest report for her case was sealed.

Nicholas Jabari Scott was also arrested in the case and was charged with sending explicit images to one of the victims and communicating with the juvenile in a manner that violated Florida law. He remains in the Alachua County Jail and is facing trial on the charges.

On May 19, 2026, Davis entered a plea of nolo contendere to unlawful sexual activity with a minor, a charge with a maximum sentence of 15 years in state prison; the other three charges were dropped at some point. Sentencing was deferred to July 13, and on that date, Judge Susanne Wilson Bullard sentenced Davis to 10 years in state prison with credit for four days served, followed by five years of sexual offender probation.
