Homeless man arrested for sending written threats to kill woman

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Wanya Kharityjahn Ward, 29, was arrested last night for allegedly sending written threats to kill a woman.
At about 11:10 p.m. on July 15, an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to Majestic Oaks, where the victim said that while she was away from home, Ward started sending her threatening messages. The deputy noted that the victim and Ward are not in a romantic relationship and do not live together, so this was not classified as a domestic incident.
The deputy reported that the victim provided text messages and voice messages that included a text message saying, “I will kill you,” along with voice messages in which Ward said he would crack her skull and was not afraid of law enforcement. The victim said she was in fear for her life and was afraid to go home.
The deputy detained Ward, who reportedly continued yelling at the victim and said she would get what was coming to her. When the deputy placed him in the back of a patrol vehicle, Ward reportedly said this was all related to some text messages.
Ward, who is described as homeless on the arrest report, has been charged with making a written threat to kill and unlawful use of a two-way communications device. He has no criminal convictions, and Judge Susan Miller-Jones set bail at $70,000.

Why provide free permanent housing for nomads who like living outside or people on vacation?

Let’s hire competent officers first and foremost. Don’t give guns to violent domestic abusers with mental health illness. Arrest quotas are a recipe for problems.
