Florida’s largest children’s resale event helps families save hundreds on back-to-school shopping

ALACHUA, Fla. – As families prepare for another school year, Just Between Friends Gainesville is making back-to-school shopping more affordable than ever. From July 29 through August 2, thousands of local families will shop Florida’s largest pop-up children’s resale event at Legacy Park Multipurpose Center in Alachua, where they can save up to 90% off retail on everything kids need.

With thousands of gently loved and new items from more than 1,000 local families, shoppers will find clothing from infant through teen (XS–XXL), shoes, backpacks, books, toys, baby gear, nursery furniture, outdoor toys, sports equipment, maternity essentials, and much more—all under one roof.

“Back-to-school shopping adds up quickly, especially for families with growing kids,” said Karen Miner, owner of Just Between Friends Gainesville. “Our goal is to help families stretch their budgets while giving another life to high-quality children’s items. Many families save hundreds of dollars by shopping our event.”

In addition to incredible savings, the event features several free community activities designed to bring families together.

Creative KIDS’ Market

On Saturday, August 1, from 9:00 a.m. to noon, young entrepreneurs ages 5–17 will showcase and sell their own handmade products and creations during the Creative KIDS’ Market. The event gives children a fun opportunity to learn business, communication, and money management skills while sharing their creativity with the community.

Backpack & School Supply Giveaway

Also taking place Saturday, August 1, from 9:00 a.m. to noon, the Alachua Police Department Backpack & School Supply Giveaway will provide free backpacks and school supplies to local students while supplies last.

Families attending Saturday’s festivities can also enjoy:

• Free face painting
• Balloon animals
• Character visits
• Music from DJ Tu Fiesta
• Free food (while supplies last)

The event is open to the public, with special Early Access shopping opportunities available before public opening for teachers, first-time parents, foster families, community helpers, and ticket-holders.
