Staff report
Updated on July 30 with pre-trial detention information.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Luis R. Gonzalez, 55, was arrested yesterday for allegedly exposing himself and masturbating in the presence of a minor in a busy commercial area.
At about 3:55 p.m. on July 23, a Gainesville Police Department officer responded to the 3400 block of SW Williston Road, where the 15-year-old victim said he saw Gonzalez expose his genitals and masturbate on a public sidewalk. The officer noted that Gonzalez was on a public sidewalk between two busy parking lots for a shopping plaza and a convenience store, in full view of passing vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
Post Miranda, Gonzalez reportedly denied exposing himself or masturbating. He said he’d had his hand in his pants and was scratching himself, but he denied ever having his genitals outside his pants.
Gonzalez, whose address is listed as GRACE Marketplace, has been charged with lewd/lascivious exhibition. He has two felony convictions (non-violent) and 28 misdemeanor convictions (one violent), including a conviction on July 1 for trespassing after a warning; he was arrested on July 17 for resisting an officer without violence and was released on his own recognizance on July 18, and he has a Notice to Appear in another case of allegedly trespassing after a warning.
Judge Susan Miller-Jones ordered him held without bail pending a hearing on a motion from the State Attorney’s Office to hold him without bail until trial. On July 30, Judge Denise Ferrero granted the motion and ordered him held without bail until trial.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Just another one of Ward’s Waifs “waving” hello. There will be plenty more of them next month waving to the returning students. They should have a parade.
re: GRACE Marketplace and its accomplices (City of Gville and Alachua County):
The test here is POSIWID – the Purpose of a System is What It Does.
As the late Stafford Beer said: there’s no point in claiming that the purpose of a system is to do what it constantly fails to do.
Or out another way, we must adhere to a simple biblical principle of discernment: a tree is known by its fruits. A bad tree should be cut down and its roots exposed.
So that’s what it takes to get them off and out of the roadways.🤔
Good to know.
On Pre-trial release and he gets arrested again now he should be held without bail indefinitely
Willits: hey Willits…forget about stopping climate change and stop the
Homeless masturbaters and the homeless crime emergency we’re having here first. If you can’t do that, then you definitely can’t stop the weather.
😂 – well said!
People like this are state raised the only question now is which parent gets now FLDOC or FLDCF either way they need to be locked up some where for the rest of the life it’s most humane thing for all the liberals and safest for the rest of us normal people. Also shut down Grace and any other homeless services the GSSR has because I know in their mind the hippies are trying to help the local homeless but all you really did was create a hobo magnet for all the unmedicated psych patient acholic drug addicts of the country to migrate to most of these people have no ties to the GSSR and were given “Diesel Therapy” from wherever they came from to here on Greyhound/Amtrak. Close the Greyhound station.
