CFO Ingoglia signs MOU between Florida State Treasury and U.S. DOJ’s National Fraud Enforcement Division

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Last week, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Blaise Ingoglia signed a memorandum of understanding between the Florida State Treasury and the United States Department of Justice’s National Fraud Enforcement Division. The memorandum strengthens collaboration between federal and state agencies to combat fraud more effectively across the country.
Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia said, “Fraudsters continue to plague our country by deceiving victims to put money into their own wallets. By solidifying our partnership with the Department of Justice, we can enhance our capabilities to root out and detect fraud faster. This collaboration sends a clear message that we are a united front with our federal government and law enforcement partners in coordinating investigations, putting more criminals behind bars, and protecting taxpayers.”
CFO Ingoglia visited South Carolina to join a roundtable with six other states and advance the Fraud Division’s priority of establishing a partnership with Florida. These states included Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
The memorandum allows for the sharing and use of publicly available payment transaction data maintained by the Florida State Treasury to support fraud prevention, fraud detection, criminal investigations, financial crime analysis, and other related law enforcement activities.
Additionally, the Florida State Treasury can assist federal law enforcement agencies in identifying fraudulent activity, uncovering organized fraud schemes, and protecting residents from financial crimes.
