Alachua County Government Forms Sustainability Partnership

Press release from Cenergistic

In a bid to significantly reduce utility bills, Alachua County Government announces a sustainability partnership with Cenergistic, a national energy conservation company. The partnership is expected to reach $1.6 million in savings.

To find opportunities for savings, Alachua County personnel work closely with Cenergistic experts and the Energy Specialist to audit and optimize energy-using systems across the organization to achieve peak efficiency. The Energy Specialist tracks energy consumption at all campuses with leading state-of-the-art technology to identify waste and drive conservation. In response to the challenges of COVID-19, the Energy Specialist continues to audit district facilities for energy inefficiencies both onsite and through online technology.

This hand-in-hand partnership is designed to significantly reduce Alachua County’s carbon footprint. The dollar savings can be redirected to fulfill other municipal priorities.

“Alachua’s commitment to sustainability is multi-faceted and ever-changing,” said Rylee Daddio, the Energy Specialist for the program. “These efforts will make a positive impact on not just the environment, but the county and the greater good of its constituents.”
