The University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Science (UF/IFAS) Extension Alachua County Office is pleased to announce the following Environmental and Community Horticulture programs for July 2021. These programs are being offered by Dr. Taylor Clem, Environmental and Community Horticulture Agent. 

Planning a Community Garden – July 13, from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

This is a Zoom webinar. Community gardens are great contributions led by community leaders for their neighborhoods. Join us for this upcoming program to learn about planning, creating, and starting your own community garden. Topics will include resources available in Alachua County and the City of Gainesville, creating partnerships, and managing the gardens. There is no registration fee. Participants must register online. Limited to 500 participants. 

New Homeowners Guide to the Landscape – July 20, from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

This is a Zoom webinar. Moving into a new home can be a daunting process. If you are moving into your first house or are a new homeowner in Florida and need to maintain your landscape, join us for this upcoming program. We’ll help demystify your landscape by covering major topics, such as turfgrass management, irrigation, and ornamental plant care. Additionally, we will talk about all the resources throughout Alachua County that are available to you. There is no registration fee. Participants must register online. Limited to 500 participants.
