Alachua County Public School families urged to watch for zoning letters in the mail
Press release from Alachua County Public Schools
ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – Alachua County Public Schools (ACPS) is urging families who live in Alachua County and have students enrolled in ACPS schools to be on the lookout for personalized letters coming home in the mail with important information about new school boundaries.
The letters are being mailed to the primary addresses of all district students living in Alachua County, even those whose zoned schools are not changing for the upcoming school year. The letters will include a list of the schools to which the address will be zoned for the 2026-27 school year, which begins August 10.
The letter will be printed in both English and Spanish and will include detailed information on zoning exceptions, magnet programs, exceptional student education (ESE), and other related issues.
Families who have not received a letter by May 15 may send an email to rezoningquestions@alachuaschools.net or call (352) 955-7040 if they need assistance.
Families can also look up their 2026-27 school zones by viewing the zone maps and using the address lookup system posted at alachuaschools.net/ourschoolsfutureready.
The new school boundary maps are part of the district’s right-sizing process, which is aimed at balancing enrollment across ACPS schools and reinvesting resources on enhancing and expanding programs, services, and facilities for students. Approximately 3200 students will be affected by the new boundaries, about 13% of the district’s projected enrollment for the 2026-27 school year.
