Annual GFAA Artist Studio Tour to be held July 12-14
Press release from Gainesville Fine Arts Association
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Each July, over one weekend, the Gainesville Fine Arts Association (GFAA) showcases working artists in the Gainesville area who open up their studios for the self-guided GFAA Artist Studio Tour. This year’s opportunity to witness art in the making kicks off with a party on Friday, July 12, from 6-9 p.m. at the GFAA Gallery and continues with the Artist Studio Tour on Saturday and Sunday, July 13 and July 14, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., both days.
The Artist Studio Tour not only offers impromptu demonstrations and examples of the artistic process in various stages but allows for conversation and learning at each stop about the artists’ process; attendees can see that process in action and purchase a wide range of original works of art directly from each artist.
The Kick-Off Party will be held Friday, July 12, from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. at GFAA Gallery, 1314 S Main St., Gainesville, FL 32601. Many Tour artists will be in attendance, and the Summer Showcase exhibit will be on display in the Gallery featuring a variety of local artists across different mediums.
Artist Studio Tour brochures will be available at GFAA Gallery and during the tour at every artist studio if you prefer paper maps. Otherwise use the interactive online map to navigate to each studio. Artist info and an interactive map can be found on our website at www.gfaastudiotour.org
This year’s Artist Studio Tour host hotel is the Hyatt Place – Gainesville Downtown, which offers a special discount during the weekend of the Studio Tour.
This project is funded in part by Visit Gainesville, Alachua County, in part by the Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs, the Florida Council of Arts and Culture and the State of Florida, and in part by a grant from the City of Gainesville, Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department.
