April 12 City of Alachua election: Coerper unopposed for mayor, two candidates for Seat 2

The City of Alachua’s qualifying period for the scheduled April 12, 2022, election ended at noon on February 22, 2022. The following individuals are qualified for election:
Seat 1 (Mayor):
Gib Coerper
Seat 2:
Gregory E. Pelham, Sr.
Edward Potts
The election is called for Tuesday, April 12, 2022, for the purpose of filling Seat 2 on the Alachua City Commission for a three-year term ending in April 2025. Coerper is the current Mayor and in that he was the only qualifier for Seat 1, that race will not appear on the ballot. The Seat 2 race is the only item to be placed on the April 12, 2022 election ballot.
The polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at the Legacy Park Multipurpose Center, the Cleather Hathcock, Sr. Community Center, and the Clubhouse at Turkey Creek. Candidate documents will be available on the City of Alachua website: www.cityofalachua.com.
