April 12 morning update: 177 cases in Alachua County

According to the state dashboard, Alachua County now has 177 COVID-19-positive cases, up from 174 at this time yesterday. No deaths have been reported. 24 people to date have been hospitalized (no information about recoveries or current hospitalization counts is available).
15 residents or staff in long-term care facilities have been diagnosed with COVID-19, up from 13 yesterday. The median age of those with positive tests is 43.
The state has 19347 cases (an increase of 853 from this time yesterday) and 452 deaths (an increase of 14 from this time yesterday but a decrease from the 458 reported yesterday evening).
Dade County has 36% of the state’s cases. Broward has 15%; Palm Beach 8%; Orange 5%; and Hillsborough 4%. Alachua County represents about 1.2% of the state’s population and 0.92% of the state’s cases.

3795 people have been tested so far in Alachua County (up 162 from this time yesterday), and 3609 tests have come back negative, so 95% of the tests so far have been negative. Only 4.7% of the local tests have come back positive so far. Of the test results that came back since the last report, 1.9% were positive. (The numbers in the various categories don’t add up to the total number of tests listed on the dashboard, but since we don’t know which number is incorrect, we’re reporting them as they’re given on the dashboard.) 6 COVID-19 tests are pending in Alachua County, and 10 are inconclusive.
According to the daily report (note that the data in that report and the dashboard don’t always match up because they are published at different times), there are 133 cases in Gainesville, 11 in Alachua, 8 in Newberry, 5 in Hawthorne, 4 in High Springs, 3 in Micanopy, 2 in Tioga, 1 in LaCrosse, and 1 in Archer.
