Paul Myers, the Alachua County Administrator for the Florida Department of Health, clarified yesterday that additional patients have died in local hospitals, but they have been residents of other counties.

24 residents or staff in long-term care facilities have been diagnosed with COVID-19, up from 22 at this time yesterday. According to theĀ latest report, there are two long-term care facilities in Alachua County that have reported positive cases in residents or staff: Oak Hammock and Parklands Care Center.

Available bed capacityĀ in Alachua County is 36.07%.

The state has 28,576 cases (an increase of 707 from this time yesterday) and 927 deaths (an increase of 60 from this time yesterday).

Dade County has 37% of the stateā€™s cases. Broward has 15%; Palm Beach 8%; Orange 4%; and Hillsborough 3%. Alachua County represents about 1.2% of the stateā€™s population and 0.8% of the stateā€™s cases.

Only 4.1% of the local tests have come back positive so far. (The numbers in the various categories donā€™t add up to the total number of tests listed on the dashboard, but since we donā€™t know which number is incorrect, weā€™re reporting them as theyā€™re given on the dashboard.) No COVID-19 tests are pending in Alachua County, and 8 were inconclusive.

According to theĀ daily reportĀ (note that the data in that report and the dashboard donā€™t always match up because they are published at different times), there are 171 cases in Gainesville, 12 in Alachua, 9 in Newberry, 7 in Hawthorne, 5 in High Springs, 3 in Waldo, 3 in Micanopy, 2 in Tioga, 1 in LaCrosse, and 1 in Archer.
