BY JENNIFER CABRERA

According to the stateĀ dashboard, Alachua County now has 141 COVID-19-positive cases, up from 131 at this time yesterday. No deaths have been reported. 16 people to date have been hospitalized.

The state has 14504 cases (an increase of 1180 from this time yesterday) and 283 deaths (up from 236 at this time yesterday).

Dade County has 35% of the stateā€™s cases. Broward has 15%; Palm Beach 8%; Orange 5%; and Hillsborough 4%. Alachua County represents about 1.2% of the stateā€™s population and less than 1% of the stateā€™s cases.

8 COVID-19 tests are pending in Alachua County, and 7 are inconclusive. 2668 people have been tested so far in Alachua County, and 2513 tests have come back negative, so 94.1% of the tests so far have been negative. Only 5.3% of the local tests have come back positive so far. Of the 328 tests that came back since this time yesterday, 3% came back positive. (The numbers in the various categories add up to one more than the total number of tests, but since we don’t know which number is incorrect, we’re reporting them as they’re given on the dashboard.)

According to theĀ daily reportĀ (note that the data in that report and the dashboard donā€™t always match up because they are published at different times), there are 107 cases in Gainesville, 8 in Alachua, 5 in Hawthorne, 4 in Newberry, 4 in High Springs, 2 in Tioga, 2 in Micanopy, and 1 in LaCrosse. Location data is not available for all cases.
