BY JENNIFER CABRERA

According to the stateĀ dashboard, Alachua County now has 144 COVID-19-positive cases, up from 139 yesterday evening. No deaths have been reported. 19 people to date have been hospitalized (no information about current hospitalization counts is available). 2 people in nursing homes or assisted living facilities have been diagnosed with COVID-19.

The state has 15456 cases (an increase of 952 from this time yesterday) and 309 deaths (up from 283 at this time yesterday).

Dade County has 35% of the stateā€™s cases. Broward has 15%; Palm Beach 8%; Orange 5%; and Hillsborough 4%. Alachua County represents about 1.2% of the stateā€™s population and less than 1% of the stateā€™s cases.

8 COVID-19 tests are pending in Alachua County, and 9 are inconclusive. 2827 people have been tested so far in Alachua County, and 2667 tests have come back negative, so 94.3% of the tests so far have been negative. Only 5.1% of the local tests have come back positive so far. Of the 146 tests that came back since the last report, 3.4% came back positive. (The numbers in the various categories add up to one more than the total number of tests, but since we donā€™t know which number is incorrect, weā€™re reporting them as theyā€™re given on the dashboard.)

According to theĀ daily reportĀ (note that the data in that report and the dashboard donā€™t always match up because they are published at different times), there are 110 cases in Gainesville, 8 in Alachua, 5 in Hawthorne, 5 in Newberry, 3 in High Springs, 2 in Tioga, 2 in Micanopy, and 1 in LaCrosse. Location data is not available for all cases.
