BBI Construction Management announces new ownership group to lead firm into its next chapter

Press release from BBI Construction Management

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – BBI Construction Management today announced a transition in ownership, marking an exciting new chapter for the established construction management firm. The company is now jointly owned by four partners, each bringing deep expertise across operations, preconstruction, project delivery, marketing, and business development, while remaining firmly committed to the clients, communities, and values that have long defined BBI.

The new ownership group includes Chris Trowell, David Herbig, Jason Diven, and Lindsay Diven, who collectively bring decades of experience delivering complex commercial, institutional, higher-education, and public-sector projects throughout Florida and beyond.

A key element of this transition is continuity. Chris Trowell joined BBI Construction Management in 2016 to spearhead an ownership transition. He has overseen operations, managed major projects, and helped shape the firm’s culture, client relationships, and delivery standards.

“This transition represents both continuity and evolution,” said Trowell. “Having been part of BBI’s leadership team for many years, I’ve seen firsthand what makes this firm successful. Our goal is to preserve that foundation while thoughtfully guiding BBI into its next phase of growth.”

Under the new ownership structure, each partner will focus on a distinct area of leadership aligned with their professional strengths:

  • Chris Trowell will oversee corporate operations and business development, bringing decades of experience leading large-scale commercial and institutional projects and managing high-performing project teams.
  • Lindsay Diven will lead marketing and business development, leveraging her background as a senior marketing and growth executive in the industry to strengthen brand visibility, market positioning, and strategic pursuits.
  • David Herbig will oversee preconstruction, drawing on more than twenty years of experience in estimating, cost modeling, and constructability across higher education, public, and commercial projects.
  • Jason Diven will lead project operations, applying his extensive background in construction management, estimating, and business leadership to ensure operational excellence from project kickoff through closeout.

Together, the ownership team brings experience spanning hundreds of millions of dollars in completed construction, deep familiarity with the Florida market, and a shared commitment to collaborative delivery.

“Each partner brings a unique lens to the business,” said Lindsay Diven. “That diversity of experience allows us to be more intentional, more responsive, and more strategic in how we serve our clients and grow BBI.”

BBI Construction Management will continue operating under its existing name, leadership structure, and core service offerings, with no disruption to current projects or client relationships. The firm remains focused on delivering high-quality construction management services rooted in transparency, accountability, and partnership.

“This is about strengthening what already works,” added Jason Diven. “We’re investing in the future of BBI, our people, our processes, and our clients, while staying true to the values that have earned trust across the region.”
