According to a press release from the Florida Highway Patrol, a Branford man died after being injured in an accident on January 22.
At 5:55 p.m. on January 22, a 41-year-old Branford man in a Chevrolet Silverado was stopped, facing north, for the red light at the intersection of US 441 and NW 43rd St. A Toyota Tundra driven by a 36-year-old Gainesville man was traveling north on US 441 and failed to stop or slow for unknown reasons. The front of the Tundra struck the Silverado. After being struck, the Silverado spun until its rear struck the front of a sport utility vehicle that was approaching on NW 43rd St. The sport utility vehicle had two occupants.
The driver of the Silverado was pronounced deceased about 9 hours later at Shands. None of the other vehicles’ occupants were injured.
