Bread of the Mighty to host ‘Cans Across Campus’ 5k on Feb. 28

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Bread of the Mighty (BOTM), in partnership with the University of Florida Bread of the Mighty Club, will host its inaugural ‘Cans Across Campus’ 5K event on February 28. The race will take place at UF’s Flavet Field (located on Woodlawn Drive, between Stadium and Museum Road) at 9 a.m.; check-in begins at 8 a.m.

Participants will race through UF’s campus to raise awareness and funds for the regional food bank, an arm of Feeding Northeast Florida (FNEFL). Commemorative shirts and medals will be given to the first 100 participants, and the top 3 men’s and top 3 women’s runners will be awarded a one-of-a-kind trophy. Food and beverages will be provided and available before and after the event.

Registration is open and is just $10 per participant. All proceeds from this 5K will go directly toward supporting BOTM’s hunger relief programs and ensuring no neighbor goes without a meal.
