Calling all singers: Capella Nova Gainesville will hold auditions on August 26

Press release from Capella Nova Gainesville

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Are you looking for a place to sing on Tuesday evenings? Capella Nova Gainesville is a community choir that performs a wide range of varied historic repertoire from medieval times to the present day, embarking on many styles and diversity of art music.

Capella is proud to be the only community chorus located west of I-75 in Gainesville, near Jonesville and not too far away from the communities of Haile Plantation, Tioga, Newberry, Archer, and High Springs. They offer free access and ample parking. Rehearsals take place in a supportive atmosphere, ideal for busy adults who want to sing away from downtown traffic or long walks for parking.

“Whether you’ve sung in choirs before or you’re returning after time away, we welcome your voice,” says Artistic Director John-Peter S. Ford. “We offer a warm, musically enriching environment for singers of all experience levels and strive for music excellence, while building friendships.”

There is no need to prepare a piece ahead of time.

Auditions will be on Tuesday, August 26, in the evening at 9700 W. Newberry Road. The fall concert is on December 7 at 3:00 p.m. To schedule your low-pressure 10-minute audition, call Susanna Hough at 352-358-1655 or leave your contact info at Capellanova.org/join-us.
