ALACHUA COUNTY CANVASSING BOARD SCHEDULE

FOR THE NOVEMBER 8, 2022, GENERAL, CITY OF GAINESVILLE ELECTION AND HIGH SPRINGS ELECTION

Canvassing Board Meetings and Logic & Accuracy Testing

ALL MEETINGS OF THE CANVASSING BOARD ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AND ARE HELD AT THE ALACHUA COUNTY SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS OFFICE, 515 NORTH MAIN STREET, GAINESVILLE, FL 32601 CALL (352) 374-5252 FOR INFORMATION OR IF YOU REQUIRE SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS.

NOTICE: Any protest or challenge based on the belief that any ballot is illegal due to any defect apparent on the Voter s Certificate must be filed with the Canvassing Board before the ballot is removed from the mailing envelope and shall not be accepted after the ballot has been removed from the mailing envelope. If any person decides to appeal any decision made by the board, they will need a record of the proceedings, and they need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made.

BALLOT TABULATION: Results will not be tabulated for vote-by-mail ballots until after the polls are closed on Election Day.

Each candidate, political party official, political committee official, or an authorized designee thereof, shall be granted reasonable access upon request to review or inspect ballot materials before canvassing or tabulation. You must call the Elections Office at (352) 374-5252 and request access at least 48 hours prior to such access being granted. An attestation must be completed before access is granted. Authorized designees must provide a signed letter from the candidate or entity designating them as a representative.

Friday, October 14, 2022 10:00 a.m. – Logic & Accuracy Testing – The Canvassing Board will test and seal tabulation equipment to be used in all phases of this election.

Monday, October 17, 2022 9:30 a.m. – Review criteria used to accept vote-by-mail ballots, review, and process vote-by-mail ballots. Ballot duplication may occur. Sealed ballots available for inspection at 9:00 a.m.

Friday, October 21, 2022 9:30 a.m. (if needed) – Review and process additional vote-by-mail ballots. Ballot duplication may occur. Sealed ballots available for inspection at 9:00 a.m.

Tuesday, October 25, 2022 9:30 a.m. – Review and process additional vote-by-mail ballots. Ballot duplication may occur. Sealed ballots available for inspection at 9:00 a.m.

Thursday, October 27, 2022 9:30 a.m. – Review and process additional vote-by-mail ballots. Ballot duplication may occur. Sealed ballots available for inspection at 9:00 a.m.

Friday, October 28, 2022 9:30 a.m. (if needed) – Review and process additional vote-by-mail ballots. Ballot duplication may occur. Sealed ballots available for inspection at 9:00 a.m.

Monday, October 31, 2022 9:30 a.m. – Review and process additional vote-by-mail ballots. Ballot duplication may occur. Sealed ballots available for inspection at 9:00 a.m.

Wednesday, November 2, 2022 9:30 a.m. – Review and process additional vote-by-mail ballots. Ballot duplication may occur. Sealed ballots available for inspection at 9:00 a.m.

Friday, November 4, 2022 9:30 a.m. (if needed) – Review and process additional vote-by-mail ballots. Ballot duplication may occur. Sealed ballots available for inspection at 9:00 a.m.

Monday, November 7, 2022 2:00 p.m. – Review and process additional vote-by-mail ballots. Ballot duplication may occur. Sealed ballots available for inspection at 1:30 p.m.

Tuesday, November 8, 2022 2:00 p.m. – Review and process additional vote-by-mail ballots. Ballot duplication may occur. Sealed ballots will be available for inspection at 1:30 p.m., if available.

Tuesday, November 8, 2022 6:00 p.m. – Review and process additional vote-by-mail ballots, canvass the returns from early voting and the precincts after 7:00 p.m. Ballot duplication may occur. Sealed ballots will be available for inspection at 5:30 p.m., if available. Release Preliminary Results.

Thursday, November 10, 2022 – 3:00 p.m. Review and process additional vote-by-mail ballots including cured signature mismatches, cured missing signatures, and ballots with non-curable errors. Board will canvass write-in ballots. Ballot duplication may occur. Sealed ballots will be available for inspection at 2:30 p.m., if available. After 5:01 p.m., the Board will review mismatched signatures and provisional ballots along with any evidence provided. The Board will then certify and release the 1st Unofficial Results.

Friday, November 18, 2022 12:30 p.m. – Review remaining overseas vote-by-mail ballots and FWAB (Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot). Ballot duplication may occur. Sealed ballots will be available for inspection at 12:00 p.m., if available. The Board will certify and release the Official Results. The Board will then make selections for the post-election audit of the voting system.

Monday, November 21, 2022 9:00 a.m. – Conduct the post-election manual equipment audit.

Tuesday, November 22, 2022 9:00 a.m. (if needed) Continuation of the post-election manual equipment audit.

If the Canvassing Board is required to meet at dates and times not listed, the time, date, location, and activity will be posted on the Supervisor of Elections website VoteAlachua.gov and announced at the conclusion of the preceding meeting.
