GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Dream on Purpose invites the community to its 9th Annual “Dine with DOP” celebration on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at the Fairfield Inn & Suites, 3877 SW 37th Blvd. Join us for an evening of inspiration as we celebrate nine years of empowering young women to actualize their dreams.

This year’s theme, “Teamwork Makes the DREAM Work,” highlights the power of collaboration in creating life-changing opportunities for youth. The event features a keynote address by Angela Howard, MBA, President and CEO of the North Central Florida YMCA, whose dynamic leadership has transformed communities through partnerships and collaboration.

As we reflect on nearly a decade of impact, stories like that of Jamia Hunt, a Dream on Purpose graduate, remind us of the importance of our mission. In a heartfelt letter to future DOP girls, Jamia shares, “If there is one thing that sticks out to me about DOP, it is that you might have come into the program a follower, but you will leave a strong and resilient leader.”

Hunt credits her success to lessons learned through Dream on Purpose programs, including how to write her first check, network professionally, and prepare for interviews through the Career Launch Intensive program. Today, she stands as an aspiring biophilic architect studying at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
