Change to commercial garbage collection in Gainesville

Effective immediately, Gainesville businesses that are temporarily closed during the COVID-19 pandemic are exempt from enforcement of the city ordinance requiring a minimum level of service (once/week) for garbage collection.

City of Gainesville solid waste inspectors will suspend enforcement of this requirement temporarily on any closed business until such time as it reopens. All businesses generating garbage remain subject to the ordinance. There is no minimum collection requirement for recyclables.
