Children’s Trust and Harn Museum Celebrate Lights On Afterschool

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Children’s Trust and the University of Florida’s Harn Museum of Art are sponsoring the annual Lights On Afterschool Celebration. It is designed to draw attention to the need for more afterschool programs to serve the millions of unsupervised children nationwide and at risk each weekday afternoon. 

What: Lights on Afterschool Celebration

When: Thursday, October 20, 2022, 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Where: Harn Museum of Art, 3259 Hull Road, Gainesville, FL 32608

Who: Children’s Trust of Alachua County & Harn Museum of Art

Guest Speaker: John F. Davis, Secretary of the Florida Lottery

Launched in October 2000 by the Afterschool Alliance, Lights On Afterschool is the only nationwide event celebrating afterschool programs and their important role in the lives of children, families, and communities. Alachua County will be celebrating this event for the second time.

Children and their families will have free entrance to the Harn Museum of Art and other free activities. Afterschool providers are also welcome so families can ask questions about their specific programs.
