City of Alachua warns about spam emails claiming to be from the City

ALACHUA, Fla. – City of Alachua officials are warning residents about an email phishing scam that is being distributed. These emails are being distributed by a sender who uses an iCloud account and claims to represent the City of Alachua.
The subject and content of the email is an attempt to deceive the reader into clicking a link to verify and update “license information.”
This email did NOT originate from the City of Alachua. In fact, the City of Alachua does not send electronic messaging (email or otherwise) asking the reader to click on any link.
