City of Gainesville closed Dec. 25-26, Jan. 1; impacts to trash and bus service

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – In observance of the holiday season, City offices will be closed Thursday, Dec. 25; Friday, Dec. 26; and Thursday, Jan. 1.

Residential curbside collection for garbage, recycling and yard trash will not be picked up on Dec. 25 or Jan. 1, and will be delayed by one day for the rest of the week after the holiday.

Bus service is on reduced service Dec. 13-23, Dec. 26-31 and Jan. 2-11. Reduced service is indicated on RTS route time schedules with an “R.” RTS will have no service on Dec. 24, Dec. 25 or Jan. 1. Please plan accordingly.
