City of Gainesville storm update #7 – trash pickup on Saturday, please stay off the roads

Press release from City of Gainesville

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Public safety officials continue to urge neighbors to remain off the roads as emergency responders work to help neighbors in need, restore power to homes and street lights, and clear debris from roadways.

  • If you’re using a portable generator, do so safely. Use generators outdoors and keep them at least 20 feet from windows, doors and garages. Do not connect a generator to a home electrical outlet or circuit breaker panel. Review the operations manual for additional safety information.
  • If you encounter any flooding in your area caused by Hurricane Helene, submit your photos on the Flood Reporter application.
