City of Gainesville’s Hoggetowne Medieval Faire returns as in-person event at new location

The City of Gainesville’s longstanding event, the Hoggetowne Medieval Faire, returns as an in-person event at a new location during three consecutive weekends this month.

When:

  • 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 15-16
  • 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 22-23
  • 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, Jan 28
  • 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 29-30

Where: 9409 SW Archer Road, Gainesville

Attendees can enjoy olde world games and rides, shop for medieval wares in the marketplace, and witness jousting knights, full-flight falconry, and a living chessboard. Jugglers, knife throwers, gypsy dancers, and aerial acts are among the popular entertainers scheduled to perform on the event’s nine stages.

The 35th annual faire is organized by the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs. Ticket prices and additional information are available at Hoggetownefaire.com.

To help ensure public health and safety, neighbors are asked to practice social distancing at the event.
