Press release from Spurrier’s Gridiron Grille
Updated on July 23 at the request of Spurrier’s to change the time of the event.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Todd Golden etched his name into Gators lore last April when he won the University of Florida’s 49th National Championship in orange and blue. On Thursday, July 24, he will hang his Champion portrait at Spurrier’s Gridiron Grille.
Coach Todd Golden’s Men’s Basketball team won the program’s third National Championship in thrilling fashion. Now he joins the exclusive club of nineteen Florida coaches who have portraits adorning the walls of the Championship Room in Visor’s Rooftop at Spurrier’s. The portraits are all painted by former Gators football national champion and revered local artist James “Batesy” Bates.
Coach Golden’s portrait will be unveiled at a short fundraiser ceremony in partnership with Florida Victorious on Thursday, July 24, from 6 – 8 p.m. at Spurrier’s in Celebration Pointe. Expected to attend the event are Coach Golden, James Bates, and the Head Ball Coach Steve Spurrier. Tickets are available for purchase for the public. Meet and greet opportunities and autographed posters are available with certain tickets. Purchase your tickets now at the event page.
