Community Hospice & Palliative Care recognizes CNA Week

Press release from Community Hospice & Palliative Care

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Community Hospice & Palliative Care recognizes its certified nursing assistants during National CNA Week, observed June 12 to 18, 2026, honoring the essential role they play in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care across Northeast and North Central Florida.

Certified nursing assistants are often the caregivers who spend the most time at the bedside, providing hands-on support and building meaningful connections with patients and families. In hospice and palliative care, their presence brings comfort, dignity, and a sense of peace during some of life’s most vulnerable moments.

Throughout the week, Community Hospice & Palliative Care will celebrate its CNAs through a series of appreciation activities and internal recognitions, highlighting their dedication, professionalism, and the impact they make each day.

“Certified nursing assistants are at the heart of the care we provide,” said Phillip Ward, President and CEO of Community Hospice & Palliative Care. “Their compassion, attentiveness, and commitment to our patients and families make a lasting difference. We are proud to recognize and celebrate them during CNA Week and every day.”

Community Hospice & Palliative Care’s CNAs are an integral part of the care team, working alongside nurses, physicians, social workers, and chaplains to support the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of each patient. Their work helps ensure patients receive comfort-focused care wherever they call home.

As a nationally recognized, locally based nonprofit, Community Hospice & Palliative Care has been serving the region since 1979, providing comprehensive hospice, palliative, and supportive care to patients and families facing serious illness.
