Community Rainbow Bridge Memorial creates space to remember beloved pets

Press release from Trinity Metropolitan Community Church

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Trinity Metropolitan Community Church is pleased to announce the grand opening of the Community Rainbow Bridge Memorial on Saturday, June 28, at 10:00 a.m., located at 11604 SW Archer Road, Gainesville, FL 32608.

This unique and heartfelt memorial was inspired by Antin Young, a 7-year-old congregant, who dreamed of creating a space where families and individuals could remember and celebrate the lives of beloved pets who have passed away. Trinity MCC was deeply moved by the rebuilding of the original Rainbow Bridge in North Carolina, which had been damaged by a hurricane. That story, combined with his own love for animals, sparked a vision: a local sanctuary where the community could reflect, grieve, and heal.

The Community Rainbow Bridge Memorial is designed to be a tranquil, inclusive space where the community can reflect, honor, and celebrate the unconditional love and companionship of pets who have passed. All are welcome to visit and contribute to this living memorial.

“This space is about love, connection, and the bond we share with our pets,” said Rev. Catherine Dearlove, Senior Pastor of Trinity MCC. “This memorial is a child’s vision, a community’s love, and a tribute to the pets who have truly been part of our families.”

The opening ceremony on June 28 will feature words from community leaders and Antin, a blessing of the memorial space, and a moment of reflection. Attendees are welcome to bring photos or mementos of their late pets to place at the memorial.

All are invited to attend this celebration of life, compassion, and community.
