County shows sneak peek of local COVID-19 Recovery Portal
BY JENNIFER CABRERA
During the May 12 County Commission meeting, Mark Sexton showed an early version of the County’s COVID-19 Recovery Portal. Although the portal is not in its final state, you can view it here. The information is intended to provide visibility into public health indicators that are not directly related to COVID-19 cases.
The Portal has 4 main pages: Public Health, which shows graphs for the gating criteria for Phase One opening (be patient, some of the data takes some time to populate); Economic Indicators, which shows the unemployment rate, non-farm employment, home prices, unemployment applications, job openings, and census response; Social Indicators, which shows information about 311 calls and crisis center calls; and Tourism Indicators, which shows hotel bed occupancy, airport statistics, information about upcoming events, and the status of parks and recreational facilities.
