Crews extricate victim from overturned vehicle on Newberry Road

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Crews from Alachua County Fire Rescue and Gainesville Fire Rescue rescued a victim from an overturned vehicle this morning on Newberry Road.

At about 8:43 a.m. on October 13, units responded to the 7400 block of W. Newberry Road after multiple calls were received about a vehicle that landed on its side after being hit; callers said a victim was trapped in the vehicle.

Arriving units found the road completely blocked and confirmed that a victim was trapped inside a small SUV. Extrication tools were used to safely remove the victim, who sustained only minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
