Dance Alive National Ballet dancers’ hard work rewarded

Press release from Dance Alive National Ballet

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A number of DANB Principal Dancers have had an eventful summer with a strong Brazilian connection!

Tales Ribeiro

Principal Dancer Tales Ribeiro has been invited to membership in the International Dance Council CID, the official world-wide organization of all forms of dance. As a member, Mr. Ribeiro is able to offer International Certification to his students and nominate other persons for CID membership. Membership is a great honor, and DANB is exceedingly proud of his accomplishment. Not incidentally, Mr. Ribeiro was invited to five different studios in different cities in Brazil. He taught ballet, jazz, and contemporary master classes and created work for companies and studios. Coaching Classical Variations and Pas de Deux, he took those dancers to competitions where all were awarded first place. (Ribeiro can be seen with one of the Brazilian groups in the top photo.)

Carla Amancio

Principal Dancer Carla Amancio, who will be performing the lead in the upcoming “Swan Lake,”  traveled to Belo Horizonte, Brazil to judge and serve as master teacher in Always Dance Brazil. Ms. Amancio and partner Jose Ramos, DANB Principal Dancer and Choreographer, are frequently called up as guest artists, judges, and master teachers.

Beatriz Correa

DANB Soloist Beatriz Correa took part in the Joinville Dance Festival in Santa Catarina, Brazil. Billed as the largest dance festival in the world, Ms. Correa performed before 5,000 dance enthusiasts, placing third in the Senior Female Repertoire Variation category. She also performed in several group works.
