Deeper Purpose Community Church opens non-profit preschool

Press release from Deeper Purpose Community Church
Deeper Purpose Community Church has opened a non-profit nursery and preschool in the City of High Springs. The school had a soft opening on Wednesday, May 12, at half capacity for the day. Deeper Purpose Kids Academy Nursery & Preschool is an integral ministry of Deeper Purpose Community Church, welcoming infants, toddlers, and preschoolers from the surrounding area.
Deeper Purpose Kids Academy is the first not-for-profit preschool to open in the High Springs/Alachua area in over a decade. As Head Administrator of the school, Senior Pastor Adam Joy felt led in 2018 to slowly start the process of making this dream a reality for community families, but after another non-profit preschool (High Springs Daycare Center) closed down in 2020, leaving families with very few options, he knew the church had to make it happen as soon as possible.
They were prepared to open last June, but due to COVID-19, they chose to put it off another year, until the coronavirus was more under control. They are religiously exempt from licensure by DCF but have to adhere to DCF’s background screening requirements for all staff. They are members of Green Apple Accreditation of Children’s Services, which accredits private and Christian schools across the nation. They passed their inspection with flying colors and are in compliance with 116 health, safety, and sanitation standards.
They have a current capacity for 24 children but will be expanding in August when school starts back and will be able to accept an additional 30 children. Their mission is to provide the best quality childcare, while maintaining a safe, fun, and loving Christian learning environment and ministering to families in need. Curricula are both secular and faith-based curriculum. They also offer after-school and summer programs to help families who need it.
