Deeper Purpose Community Church seeks funds to purchase property, increase community outreach

BY JENNIFER CABRERA

Deeper Purpose Community Church has the opportunity to purchase the property that is currently being used by Fellowship Church, at 16916 NW U.S. Hwy 441 in High Springs. Deeper Purpose Community Church believes this property will allow them to serve the community on a larger scale than they are currently able to. Every year, they assist hundreds of local families, but their space currently limits what they can do.

The church would like to make the property a “Tri-City Area Family Resource Center” that would allow them to open a shelter for domestic abuse victims, hold food drives, host free community events, open a low-cost childcare facility, run a free after-school and tutoring program, and open a donation and outreach center, food pantry, and clothes closet. In addition, they would like to have free mentoring and parenting classes for both kids and adults, host sporting competitions, open a soup kitchen, and open a youth center.

Fellowship Church is asking $3.5 million for the property, so the church is requesting support from the community in this effort, including donations from businesses and individuals. According to a press release from the church, Sonny Tillman, the founder of Sonny’s BBQ Restaurants, has endorsed their Million Dollar Faith Building Fund Campaign.

Members of the community who would like to donate funds or help in any way can contact Pastor Adam Joy at deeperpurposecc@yahoo.com.
