Deeper Purpose Community Church to hold annual Thanksgiving grocery distribution on Nov. 18

Press release from Deeper Purpose Community Church

HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. – Deeper Purpose Community Church, in partnership with Deeper Purpose Community Charities, Deeper Purpose Family Resource Center (TRC), and the Bread of the Mighty Food Bank, will hold a free Thanksgiving Grocery Distribution.

WHEN: Tuesday, November 18, at 3 p.m.

We will be paying for a truck delivery from Bread of the Mighty Food Bank, as well as providing a large variety of items straight from the grocery store that we’ll be purchasing for families.

Our goal is to have food to distribute to at least 300 area families for Thanksgiving, as well as provide healthy food and snack options for families with children, which will assist them during the week that school is out for the Thanksgiving Holiday Break, as many students rely on the meals that they receive while at school.

We are not promising anyone anything, because we get different amounts of different items, but we will have fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, holiday boxes, breads and desserts, meats, canned goods, dry goods, dairy, shelf stable items, along with breakfast, lunch, and dinner items and a limited amount of turkeys.

The food will be distributed at the Deeper Purpose Community Complex (our vacant church property) out on U.S. Hwy 441, right across from the Oak Ridge Subdivision (16779 NW U.S. HWY 441, High Springs, FL 32643). If you’re coming from Gainesville or Alachua, it will be on your right. If coming from High Springs on 441, it will be on your left.

If you’re coming from High Springs and get to the area of Jack’s Small Engine, you’ve gone too far. If you’re coming from Gainesville/Alachua, if you get to the area of the new Palms Medical Group, you’ve gone too far. We are between the new Palms Medical Group and Jack’s Small Engine on 441 in a 14-acre field.

Volunteers are needed and welcomed, starting at 1:30 p.m. or one hour before the distribution starts. Many hands make light work. Pastor Adam Joy stated that you do not have to live in High Springs to come. If you can make it there, we will serve you while food lasts. Walk-ups are welcome, but this is a drive-thru event.
