Deeper Purpose partners with roofing company to offer a free roof for a High Springs family
Press release from Deeper Purpose Community Church
HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. – Recently Pastor Joy of Deeper Purpose Community Church (DPCC) was invited to meet with an area company that wanted to talk about partnering with the church to bless a local family with a new free roof. All of the details have been discussed, and we are ready to move forward.
If you are in need of a new roof for your home, email us the following information:
- Your name/ Name of Home Owner.
- Address of the home.
- Phone number of Home Owner.
- Square footage of home.
- If any children or disabled individuals are in the home.
- A short paragraph of your story.
- The circumstances/ situation behind the need for the new roof. Please be specific about whether you have current roof leaks (Is the home taking in water when it rains? Is the roof currently tarped because you haven’t been able to get the roof fixed or replaced? Is the roof just very old & beyond repair?)
We also ask that you list two people that can be contacted that know your story to be true. Just their name and phone number would suffice.
Please do not ask others to email on your behalf if you’re able to contact us yourself. However, because there are some senior citizens out there or others who may not see this and may not have access to email or social media, others can email us to recommend another family who really needs this.
We are accepting submissions through Monday, March 24, at 6 p.m. A small committee has already been formed that will go over all submissions, once the deadline is reached. The submissions will be divided between the committee members to each read individually, and then each member will pick their top choice.
Once each member has selected their top choice, the top choices will be discussed among all members and then voted on by the committee or possibly a subcommittee first. This is an effort to make the selection as fair as possible and truly give all submitters a fair chance.
The winner will be contacted within two weeks after the submission deadline and will be set up for a site visit and roof inspection. From there, the future date of installation and all other details will be shared directly with the recipient. If things fall through with the first winner, we’d then move to the next highest ranked application.
The companies involved wish to remain anonymous at this time.
Other things you need to know:
- The companies involved requested that the home be a home in High Springs.
- The company donating the material asks that the roof must be under 20 squares or less. The way to judge that is that most 1,400-1,600-square-foot homes will fall in that range if they have a normal roof slope. If it has really super high peaks and is 1,600 sqft, that roof would most likely be too big.
- The new roof will be a shingle roof. We would prefer the roof be shingles now, so the replacement is shingle-to-shingle for permitting and to guarantee the home has plywood underneath.
To apply, email deeperpurposecc@yahoo.com and put “New Roof” in the subject line. You will get a reply back within 24 hours. Please share.
