Release from the Governor’s Faith and Community Based Initiative
Florida Governor DeSantis has released the following statement as Holy Week and Passover begin, recognizing that this year will look distinctively different than last year. His hope is for spiritual unity and social distance during this unique season:
“The state is not closing churches, temples or any other place of worship. However, Governor DeSantis strongly encourages all people to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Fortunately, many religious leaders have found effective ways to follow those guidelines by utilizing technology. We appreciate these efforts to identify other means to connect spiritually particularly during this season of Passover and Easter.“
