Dog resuscitated after rescue from burning house

At approximately 9:56 p.m. on April 13, Gainesville Fire Rescue (GFR) crews were dispatched to a working residential building fire at 320 NW 1st St. The first unit arrived on scene in less than three minutes to find a two-story house with heavy fire conditions on the second floor.
Twenty Firefighters worked quickly to control the fire. All the occupants were able to exit the building while GFR Tower 1 crew rescued a dog from the building. The dog was successfully resuscitated and taken to a local animal hospital.
There were no injuries reported, but multiple occupants were displaced due to the damage to the house. This fire is currently under investigation to determine the origin and cause.
