Earleton man killed in crash with semi in eastern Alachua County

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – A 33-year-old Earleton man was killed early this morning when he reportedly pulled out in front of a semi.

At about 4:57 a.m., the Earleton man was driving a sedan southbound on CR 1469 toward the intersection with CR 219A when he pulled out from a stop sign onto CR 219A and was hit by a semi traveling northbound that was reportedly unable to avoid a collision with the sedan.

The driver of the sedan was wearing a seatbelt but was fatally injured when the semi hit the right front side of his car.

The semi was driven by a 38-year-old Clearwater man who suffered minor injuries.

The Florida Highway Patrol release states that this is an ongoing investigation.
