Eastside High School to dedicate gym to Coach Pop Williams on Friday, Dec. 20

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Eastside High School is proud to announce the dedication of its basketball gym to Coach Herman “Pop” Williams on Friday, December 20, at 7:15 p.m., just before the EHS vs. Buchholz High School basketball game.

Coach Williams has served as Head Basketball Coach at EHS for nearly 30 years and has served the school for nearly 40 years. During his tenure, he has racked up more than 600 wins and won the State Championship during the 2005-2006 season. His hard work, dedication, school pride, and many years of wisdom have made a difference in the lives of many young people and positively impacted our community.

The ceremony will begin at 7:15 p.m. and will end when the game starts at 7:40 p.m. Featured speakers include former players Kentrell Martin, Tim Shankle, Raynard White, and Coach Williams.
