GAINESVILLE, Fla. – On Saturday, September 13, The AUK Market (2031 NW 6th Street) will host a brand new style showcase highlighting unique and cutting-edge fashion design created in Gainesville. The specialty evening runway event “Abalone Shore” by Jennifer Parker of French all the Seams will celebrate the fusion of textile craftsmanship and creative expression, spotlighting distinctive design talent from our local community.

The Fashion Event is a tribute to the enduring legacy of Korea’s Haenyeo — the fearless free-diving women of Jeju Island — and the raw, natural beauty of California’s Abalone Coast. This collection reimagines strength, grace, and a deep connection to the sea through modern silhouettes and textured materials. Merging cultural heritage with coastal spirit, the show celebrates resilience, freedom, and the quiet power found beneath the waves. 

This free event starts at 6 p.m., with the fashion show at 7 p.m. Expect an evening soiree with fashion, music, and local delectables. Runway seating will be limited. Please arrive early for a seated option, standing room available.
